Modesto’s Gallo Center targets younger audience with Il Volo

The downtown performing arts venue also announced a June 5 show by the operatic trio Il Volo. The performances add to a series of high-profile entertainers Gallo has attracted to Modesto recently, including musicians John Legend and Rob Thomas, whose shows sold out shortly after going on sale.

“We are thrilled to have booked both of these popular acts. Getting these acts is part skill and part luck,” said Gallo Center CEO Lynn Dickerson. “The 2013-14 season is going down in the record books as the most successful yet for the Gallo Center.”

Il Volo: We don’t have only one. We hope to work more in Italy, the country where our heart lies. In this way our parents and grandparents will avoid to cross 6000km in order to be with us.

Il Volo among acts coming to Freedom Hill this summer

Willie Nelson, Styx, Tony Bennett and the Temptations are among the artists who will perform in concert this summer at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights, promoters announced Monday.

They are among the 25-30 shows that Il Volo will make up the schedule for the second year the outdoor venue has been under the operation of Luna Hillside LLC, the management company that revived the facility last year following a multi-year shutdown.
