Il Volo, U.S. tour and a movie for Disney

LOS ANGELES - Pasta was the most successful Italian export product to the US until Il Volo, the operatic-pop trio composed of young Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble. They landed, and caught the attention of radio, have faced successful tour of the States on the stages and in the meantime their records went up high in the rankings. The Rise of Il Volo overseas seems unstoppable. The debut album was immediately "platinum", while the second, We Are Love, lea is climbing the Billboard charts. Last year Barbra Streisand wanted them with him along the North American tour, the first for her for twenty years now, and a duet with them on stage.
[NOTE: This is the best we can translate Italian, sorry. ]
Il Volo has appeared in popular television talk shows (to Jay Leno, in particular), in many shows over the public network PBS and finally landed well on American Idol, the X Factor U.S.. The interest of the entertainment industry for the trio nostrano is huge, and not only by the record: Disney is planning a film about their (still) short career, starring themselves. The three tenorini boast legions of teenage fans who adore them, in open competition with Justin Bieber.
[......]
We speak with the three boys while they are still enjoying the last days of vacation with family and friends before the huge tour that awaits them. "We have loads of luggage and songs! We are ready to smash the world," he says with enthusiasm Piero Barone via Skype from Sicily. "We can not wait to leave. We are very happy, because the thing you love most in life is singing and there is nothing more beautiful than to sing for anyone you know who loves you."
Their concert is structured on the songs of the new album alternating with Italian classics beloved by the American public, such as O Sole Mio, The world is a love so great, and American standards such as Smile and In the Arms of the Angels. Alternating songs performed by soloists to classic sung as a trio. "But our strength is Italy," said Piero. "We realized that the Americans like our voices, which for us is a divine gift, and our traditional music. But our love it even more simple, because we are three guys who sing for the love of music, which does not seek to make things astral wearing jackets or inventing brilliant choreography absurd ... ".
The U.S. tour has become an obligatory point in the career of Il Volo. "But we really love the American public of our sosteniti, ranging from children to their grandparents octogenarians: with our music ideally embrace three generations of fans," says Piero. "Seeing the smile of the girl of 9 years and together for us is that of his grandmother exciting emotion. Certainly, when we travel we miss our friends and their families, but we know that we're going on a continent where love us so much, and this reward for all, even the sacrifices. "
Piero, the largest of the three, behind his glasses and talking casually is often spokesman for the group. Ignazio, who was plump at the beginning of the history of Il Volo, has reached an enviable physical shape through a disciplined diet and now fascinates the young fans rise as well as to the two partners. And Gianluca, the youngest, says, "It was like finding another family with Il Volo: it is as if, from day to day, I had found two older brothers." About the family: on tour often are accompanied by their parents, who spend an average when the absence of the boys too long ago.
The Los Angeles-leg of the tour in store for a surprise: the actor Paul Sorvino will be joining them for a duet. "We met during the Magna Graecia Film Festival, in Calabria, and with this actor has created a wonderful feeling," explains Piero. "I really like the work, it is a world that fascinates me, and Sorvino is a great connoisseur of opera.'s A fan of ours. Sing together O sole mio, because he is from Naples."
But why they became tenors? Gianluca responds, the baritone of the three: "I was a child I listened to Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli because of my grandfather. Then I heard Frank Sinatra, Eddie Williams, Perry Como, Elvis Presley. I trained well. Today I love it also Michael Buble. Musically, I'm changing voice, and we are adapting our performance, even in this. Unfortunately in Italy still do not recognize us for what we really are. Maybe they think we perform songs in spaghetti and mandolin, and instead landed in America with a project importantly, an orchestra of more than 20 items, many of whom travel with us from Italy, and great arrangers. interpret the Italian genre but in our own way, sometimes almost unrecognizable. Transforming the songs and make them our own. This is the our goal, we want people to fall in love with the genre. Ultimately, it is the first time that three kids sing pop lyric. "
Kids yes, but aware of their virtues. And consequently ambitious. So much so, cultivate a common dream: "It would be great to win a Grammy and be able to live life doing what I love more than anything else to do, ie sing," says Piero for everyone. While studying for them is important, "Barbra Streisand there always repeated during our tour. Thank God for the natural talent you possess, and then continue pedaling. And listen to all the music. Musically Be open to every stimulus. A great singer like Streisand can not give us the right advice. Personally I do my vocals everyday. My friends know this and are waiting for me ... ". Gianluca adds: "We are still young, we have a long way to go. But it has happened to this great fortune, the dream has become reality very quickly, and we were forced to grow up quickly. But we know that the world of music is difficult. Hurry to climb to the top but in the blink of an eye you can collapse. Therefore it is important - as our parents always taught - to keep our feet on the ground. Working hard and stay humble, he used to say even Barbra Streisand" .

  1. Looking forward to the Disney movie. I have one question, everyone talks about the tv shows they have been on, but i have yet to hear mention of their very first supports on tv, which they return to each time and that is "The Talk". These ladies love them as much as we do!

  3. I have been following these young men for four years. They are a fantastic alternative to some of the music being produced. They are great role models for the younger generation. Than you Italy and God for sharing them with the World.

  4. Right after I had a conversation about this Disney movie possibility (and we were talking about what great role models our IL VOLO "boys" are), I went to recycle my plastic bags (the timing for that chore having changed 3 times in 2 days). Perfect timing! On top of the very full Oregon recycle bin was a beautiful Disney Parks bag, replete with fireworks and Tinkerbell's Castle. (That bag hangs in my garage, where I am see it daily and send great wishes to our IL VOLO family.)

Seems like a cosmic wink! I'm betting IL VOLO ends up with some kind of Disney opportunity. And what a blessing that will be for all involved!
