They have toured with Barbra Streisand and sung with Placido Domingo, Eros Ramazzotti and many other artists. I recently did a tribute to Jose Jose at the Latin Billboard Music Awards. They sing in Spanish, English, Italian and other languages, and the genre they play is a lyrical pop. They are Piero Barone (19 years), Gianluca Ginoble (18) and Ignazio Boschetto (18), who form the Italian trio Il Volo. Their voices surprise even the most knowledgeable of this genre. These three boys reach the hearts of adults and youth and talent has been recognized not only in his native Italy and the rest of Europe. Why the name Il Volo (The Flight)?
Gianluca: It is a metaphorical name, pronunciation is very simple and also because music makes us fly and travel a lot and live on airplanes. I think it's a perfect name for us.

Il Volo: "We mixed pop with opera"

The Italian group Il Volo, which in Spanish means "The Flight" is a lyrical pop singing trio. It is composed of Piero Barone, born in Sicily, Ignazio Boschetto, from Bologna, and Gianluca Ginoble, from the land of Abruzzo. How did you meet?
We met two years ago during the talent show "ti lascio una canzone", each singing solo . There were 39 contestants. Gradually we were talking and we are now in this project that excites us.

Why you decided to record the song "Constantemente Mia" with Belinda?
We wanted to have a partnership with an American artist. We are looking for several months until we fond Belinda. We liked her style. We mixed opera with pop.

How does it feel to have songs in duet with singers Placido Domingo and Eros Ramazzotti?
Incredible. Two stars of our country. Placido Domingo is the best known and beloved singer in the opera genre. With it we have the theme "Il Canto". And I hear Ramazzotti since I was child . It is an honor to sing a duet with him, the song "Così".

You also sing rock songs in English.
Yes most famous versions are the bands Aerosmith and U2.

Do you like rock?
Yes is what I hear most. My favorite artists are Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder and AC / DC.

Many fans are wondering where Il Volo buy your clothes.
Really? (laughs). My favorite clothes are T-shirts and jeans. The Armani brand I love, but in the end what I really like is to feel comfortable.

El ´amor global´ de Il Volo

Luego de presentarse con su primer álbum homónimo y con el sencillo O Sole Mio en 2010, el grupo Il Volo, conformado por los operísticos juveniles Piero, Ignazio y Gianluca, brindan We are love, un disco que propone mostrar la versatilidad de su nuevo repertorio.
La razón del título es, según comentó Piero vía telefónica a este medio, para transmitir “un amor global”. “Todos somos amor y podemos brindarlo, no es solamente el amor que existe entre un hombre y una mujer”.
We are love presenta canciones nuevas y cuentan con la colaboración de Eros Rammazzotti y Plácido Domingo.
Sobre estas dos colaboraciones, el mayor de los integrantes de Il Volo opinó: “Plácido Domingo es un gran intérprete de la música clásica y Ramazzotti, de la música pop. Con estos duetos queremos demostrar lo versátiles que somos con nuestras voces. Desde el pop hasta el clásico y viceversa”.
El álbum, lanzado el año pasado, cuenta con 12 canciones de pop clásico: 7 de ellas fueron interpretadas en italiano, 3 en inglés y 2 en español; producido en Los Ángeles, Estados Unidos, y en Roma, Italia, por Ron Fair, Michele Torpedine, Humberto Gatica y Tony Renis.
Dentro del repertorio, Il Volo integró la canción Historia de un amor, compuesta por el panameño Carlos Eleta Almarán. “Cuando la oímos dijimos: ´nos encanta´. Cuando la intentamos cantar la primera vez, pensamos que esta canción era lo máximo. Hicimos diferentes arreglos y coros, y le añadimos cosas nuevas”, agregó Piero.
El disco también incluye una versión de I don´t want to miss a thing, original de Aerosmith (traducida como Questo Amore), además de una versión del tema Beautiful day, de U2.
