Promo: Il Volo "Buon Natale"

 
Il Volo is back with their first holiday special!
Piero Barone (20), Ignazio Boschetto (19) and Ginaluca Ginoble (18) are celebrating the Christmas holidays with their brand new PBS special, "Il Volo Buon Natale."  Filmed at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, Il Volo performs this 60-minute special before an enthusiastic audience and adoring fans amidst a backdrop of Santa hats, decorated Christmas trees and beautifully wrapped presents.  From Italian Classics in Il Volo's first special to contemporary pop in their second special, the group takes on American Christmas classics virtually unknown in their Italian culture.

Il Volo presents: "We Are Love: Live from The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater"


Il Volo, the Italian trio of pop opera, presented on August 6 "We Are Love: Live from The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater", a material is also been shared on DVD.
The special was produced by Richard Jay-Alexander (Barbra Streisand), directed by Scott Lochmus Detroit PBS agent and producer Humberto Gatica and Tony Renis as musical producers.
This presentation also includes a special duet "Constantemente Mia" with the talented Mexican singer Belinda and the song that made ​​them famous in the U.S., "O Sole Mio", the most popular song of their first album.

Il Volo: Classical trio on musicals


The trio of opera singers known as Il Volo came together in 2009 on the Italian reality television show Ti lascio una canzone. Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble were chosen to sing the classic “O sole mio” and have been together ever since settling on the name Il Volo meaning “The Flight.”
The performed onstage at American Idol then landed a guest spot with Barbra Streisand on her world tour. They sang with her on songs such as “Smile” and “Make My Gardens Grow” as well as their own hits.
Recently they released Il Volo Takes Flight on PBS, CD, and DVD to give audiences a taste of their live show.
Volo flew into town to discuss their music with Jerry Nunn and to sign latest copies of We Are Love for the fans.
Jerry Nunn: Hi, guys. You are from different parts of Italy but were formed on a reality show?
Gianluca Ginoble: Yes, an Italian TV show put us together. Our first song was “O sole mio” and turned out to be our first single in the United States. We sang it on American Idol as their special guest. We have performed it for Ellen DeGeneres also.
Piero Barone: We made a DVD in Detroit of our live show recently We Are Love.
JN: Whose idea was it to make a One Direction cover song?

Powerhouse Opera Trio IL VOLO Discusses New Album, Upcoming Tour!

Teen powerhouse opera trio, IL VOLO, stopped by KCAL9 Thursday to tell viewers about their new album “We Are Love: Special Edition” and their upcoming concert tour!
The tour runs from August to November with a stop at The Gipson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk on August 28.
The group has a PBS special airing nationwide and they will be performing the National Anthem at the Dodgers game on July 11.

Interviewing Solvay Native Richard Jay-Alexander on Producing Two Il Volo PBS Specials

Sunday afternoon, June 9 2013, at 3:00:  My co-host, Jim Battaglia and I will air part of our interview with Richard Jay-Alexander about his role in producing the PBS Il Volo concert, “We Are Love” which is being featured on WCNY on Sunday, 6/9 at 8 p.m. and Tuesday, 6/11 at 10 p.m and the upcoming “Buon Natale” Christmas special.
We were fortunate to have caught up with Richard just as he had finished his work with the three teenagers Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble known as Il Volo in Miami and before he left for London to tour with Barbra Streisand.
Many listeners know Richard who was born to Frank and Dulce Fernandez of Solvay.  The veteran producer began his stage career on Broadway as a dancer, singer and actor and then took on the roles of executive producer for Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon and Les Miserables and has worked with top artists like Bernadette Peters, Bette Midler and Kristin Chenoweth.

Millions of US fans fell in love with the astonishing talent of “Italian teen sensation” (Wall Street Journal) IL VOLO following their wildly successful (over 2,100 broadcasts) 2012 PBS Special “Il Volo Takes Flight,” and their special appearance on Barbra Streisand’s fall 2012 tour. Now, they’re back with We Are Love (Special Edition) and a new PBS Special Il Volo: We Are Love, slated to air in major markets across the US throughout June 2013. Il Volo readies for push behind "We Are Love (Special Edition)"




Italian operatic trio Il Volo will spend some time touring North America this summer in support of a new album, "We Are Love (Special Edition)."

The three teenage performers -- Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble and Ignazio Boschetto -- will begin the stateside journey with an Aug. 25 performance in Vancouver, British Columbia. The current schedule features 17 theater shows spread across the nation, wrapping up Sept. 29 in Wallingford, CT.

"We Are Love (Special Edition,)" which will hit retailers May 28 via Interscope Records. The effort, produced by Tony Renis and Humberto Gatica, features songs from last year's "We Are Love," along with newly-recorded covers of One Direction's "Little Things," Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" and West Side Story's "Maria," along with two other tracks.

In March, Il Volo recorded a Miami performance for a PBS special that begins airing June 1.

Il Volo Share The Love



The three teenage Italian tenors have booked their first full-fledged tour since supporting Barbra Streisand as a special guest on her fall excursion. Along with the new dates Il Volo has a special edition album coming out and an upcoming PBS special.
Look out for the release of the special edition of We Are Love May 28 on Interscope. The album includes selections from the group’s second studio album along with five newly recorded songs including Il Volo’s take on One Direction’s “Little Things,” Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel,” the classic Elvis Presley/Neapolitan song “Surrender (Torna a Sorrento)” Elton John’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and West Side Story’s “Maria.”

And if you loved Il Volo’s PBS special “Il Volo Takes Flight,” you won’t want to miss the trio’s new PBS special “Il Volo: We Are Love.” Filmed at The Fillmore Miaimi Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in March, the special airs nationally on PBS beginning June 1.
Piero Barone, Ignazio Borschetto and Gianuca Ginoble return to the road in August.

Il Volo, the Italian trio of young that has captivated the world with their incomparable voices, premiered his new Spanish album, "Mas Que Amor", an album produced by multi-award winning producer Humberto Gatica and Tony Renis who worked on their self-titled debut album.The new album includes the first single "Constantemente mia" a collaboration with Mexican singer Belinda, a version of "Asi" along with Eros Ramazzotti and "Il Canto" with tenor Placido Domingo, as well as a reinterpretation of "Beautiful Day" by U2 and a Spanish version of "I don't want to miss a thing" titled "Nuestro Amor", among many more.Characterized by their stunning voices, the trio is composed by Piero Barone (19), Gianluca Ginoble (18) and Ignazio Boschetto (18). Il volo in English means "The flight", and with this name they have conquered the music industry. The tenors released their first album in 2011 and debuted within the Top 10 of the Billboard listings, selling more than one million copies worldwide. Their second album "We are love," in English "Mas Que Amor," went on sale in 2012, at the same time culminating in a tour in the United States, which led them to discover the country from coast to coast with full totals in their scales.Thanks to the success that has earned the trio with "Il volo takes flight - Live from the Detroit Opera House" a special television that recorded for PBS last year, Il Volo met at the Fillmore theatre of the city of Miami the past 26 and 27 March to record two more specials , "We are love", which will be promoted on 1 June, and "Buon natale", released to the market on November 30, 2013 on the PBS network.

Detroiters get special early view of Il Volo special

 
Thanks to a friendly association with the Motor City — which includes the filming of “Il Volo Takes Flight — Live From the Detroit Opera House” PBS special and DVD, Detroit is getting a sneak peak at the teen classical trio’s next major project.
The Italian group’s “We Are Love,” filmed March 26 in Miami, will be shown nationwide starting June 1 but airs at 9 p.m. Saturday, April 13, on WTVS, Detroit’s Channel 56. The show includes performances in English, Italian and Spanish, including renditions of Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel,” One Direction’s “Little Things,” “Can You Feel the Love” from “The Lion King” and “Maria” from “West Side Story,” among others, as well as a collaboration with Mexican singer Belinda.
Il Volo’s Gianluca Ginoble notes that “We Are Love” is different from Takes Flight.”
“That was classical songs, Italian songs, so this is a little bit different,” he explains. “We sang a lot of songs in English for this one because our English is getting better every day, but we kept the same kind of music, operatic pop.”
The “We Are Love” album will be released at the end of May with five bonus studio recordings. While in Miami the trio also filmed a holiday special in Miami, “Buon Natale,” that will premiere Nov. 30 with an album and DVD release as well. Meanwhile, Il Volo is planning to spend several months in Los Angeles this year to continue working on the members’ English and also “to be close to the record company and the promotion and everything” for its upcoming releases, says the group’s Piero Barone.

The Italian trio Il Volo, today launches its new album titled 'More Than Love' and here we invite you to listen while you enjoy these exclusive photos
This album is the Spanish version of the album "We Are Love" which was released on November 19 and contains 13 songs.
Más que Amor’ was produced by Grammy-winning Humberto Gatica and Tony Renis like his debut album. Most of the songs on this album are new and it also includes covers.
One of the covers we know you'll love is 'I Do not Want to Miss a Thing' by Aerosmith, which titled 'Nuestro Amor'. This song became classic rock replacing the electric guitar for violin and percussion by an orchestra.
This material has the participation of music greats as Belinda (Constantemente Mia), Eros Ramazzotti (Asi) and Placido Domingo (Il Canto).
