Il Volo, the language of love

Despite the success they have had with just two albums and toured Latin America , North America and Europe , Il Volo has his feet on the ground. The group is not resting on its laurels with what has been achievements so far. They want more. This was stated by Ignazio Boschetto, a member of the young Italian trio .
The group will visit the city [Guadalajara, mex] and Boschetto emphasized that the show coincides with the date of his birthday.
"It will be a simple show just because we 're three simple guys . We 'll have fun . As we always say , the concert will be all the people who go to the concert. I think it will be a beautiful concert also because it's my birthday " .
He assures that him , Piero Barone and Gianluca Ginoble are simple, having fun together and have a solid friendship . On his opinion, the important thing is the selection of the songs, but also sing with emotion .

Il Volo is growing up

Little boys grow up and Piero Barone, 19; Ignazio Boschetto, 18; and Gianluca Ginoble, 17 of Il Volo are no different. Some two or three years ago, they were literally choirboys from small towns in Southern Italy with dreams of singing stardom. Nowadays, they have albums in the hit charts and have recently gone on tour with Barbra Streisand. You know that it happens. Kids inevitably grow up. Still it was something of a shock to play the new Il Volo CD, We Are Love and hear not choirboys but three young tenors. I felt sad at first. We have lost the boys. On the other hand though, we now have three heartthrobs with fantastic voices. Most important of all, they are now giving the moribund music industry a high-octane booster.
Remember that time in the ’90s when the powerhouse trio of tenors Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti brought classical singing to the hit charts of the world? Well, doubtless inspired by those legends, Il Volo is doing the same thing again. And given their good looks and Latin charm, this is with special emphasis on the lucrative teen girls market. It all started in 2009 when the boys joined the RAI-TV contest, Ti Lascio Una Canzone as soloists. Gianluca won the grand prize but some genius in production had the bright idea of making them sing the Italian standard O Sole Mio as a trio. The number was a showstopper and it was decided then that Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca would henceforth be a trio, that later was named Il Volo which means in flight.

Il Volo singer Piero Barone on finding his voice and more ahead of State Theatre stop

From the time he was 3, Piero Barone knew he'd become a singer.
"That was the first time I opened my mouth, and sang to my nono (the Italian word for "grandpa"), and he took me to have my voice recorded that same day," Barone explains.
Barone, who sings tenor in the hit singing trio Il Volo, joins Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble on stage Monday night at the State Theatre in Easton. Il Volo performs at 8 p.m. as part of their current North American tour.
Il Volo, which means "the flight" in Italian, are also special guests on Barbra Streisand's current tour of the U.S. and Canada, according to a news release.
On working with Streisand, Barone quickly becomes enthusiastic. "She is a legend. It is like a dream come true," Barone says.
From Broadway show standards to fresh takes on operatic or "popera" arias, Barone says performing becomes a dialog between the singers and audience.
"When you are on the stage, you have to show people who you are, at least that was what we did with our first recording. Now, with our second album, we are exploring deeper what we can do," Barone says.
The trio's first album, "Il Volo," was released in 2010 and went platinum, according to the release.
Songs include updated interpretations of such Italian classics as "O Solo Mio" and "Un Amore Cosi Grande," along with new material written specifically for Il Volo, such as "La Luna Hizo Esto" and "Painfully Beautiful," written by Grammy Award-nominated songwriter Diane Warren, according to the release.

Il Volo wowing audiences with operatic-pop

Il Volo might be a "boy band," but it is unlike any you have ever heard. "Il Volo" means "to fly" in Italian, and these three Italian teenagers take flight with music called "operatic pop." Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble sing popular songs with the quality of opera stars.
Their beautiful, rich voices are more like the Three Tenors than the Jonas Brothers. In their songs they share solo parts and offer wonderful harmonies, uplifting their audiences with each moment full of emotion and drama.
Il Volo will perform at Easton's State Theatre on Oct. 15, in between dates as the opener for Barbra Streisand on her national tour. The boys will be backed by a band of keyboards, bass, drums and guitars.
Success has come quickly for the trio. Its first, self-titled CD was released last year in the United States. A PBS special, "Il Volo Takes Flight: Live from the Detroit Opera House," was made into a CD and DVD. The group has appeared on "American Idol," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Today Show," "Good Morning America," "The Talk," "Ellen" and "Rachael Ray."

The trio — Piero Barone, 18, Ignazio Boschetto, 17, and Gianluca Ginoble, 17 — is known for its renditions of classical songs and standards such as “O Sole Mio” and “Il Mondo,” a style of music dubbed “operatic pop” or “popera.”
   
The group’s members first met and performed together on an Italian television talent show in 2009. After hooking up with a manager and producer, they recorded their self-titled debut album in 2010.
   
Il Volo (which means “flight” in Italian) first came to prominence in the U.S. with the trio’s 2011 appearance on “American Idol.” Following that performance, their album went to No. 6 on the Billboard Top 2000 charts and has remained on the Classical Crossover Chart since March 2012.
   
The group has appeared on such shows as “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” “Today” and “Good Morning America” and filmed the PBS special “Il Volo Takes Flight.” The trio recently joined Barbra Streisand as her special guests for several of her upcoming concerts.

Il Volo appeals to a variety of ages

Move over, Justin Beiber. Watch your back, One Direction. Il Volo is coming to town.
   
For the uninitiated, Il Volo is the latest teenage singing group to take America by storm. The difference here is that this male trio, consisting of Piero Barone, 18, Ignazio Boschetto, 17, and Gianluca Ginoble, 17, prefer to belt out classical songs and standards such as “O Sole Mio” than the usual electronic-infused pop that dominates the charts.
   
Their style, dubbed “operatic pop” or “popera,” has been a hit with young and old alike, according to Ginoble.
   
“Our goal was to bring this kind of music to all people: Kids from 1 to those 92. Just like the Christmas song,” he said.
   
He said not a lot of artists span generations. “Justin Beiber only has the teenagers. Andrea Bocelli has only the 30-year-olds. Il Volo is not this way,” he said.

Ignazio, Piero e Gianluca, i tre giovani tenori del trio Il Volo, questa sera debutteranno sul palco con Barbra Streisand al Wells Fargo Centre di Philadelphia.

La agrupación italiana IL Volo estrenaría nuevo disco pronto

El trío de tenores italianos no paran de sorprender al mundo y a sus fans, pues además de contar con un talento inigualable y cautivar con su estilo contundente y juvenil, la agrupación podría lanzar un nuevo trabajo discográfico a finales del 2012.

Aunque este rumor no ha sido confirmado aún, se dice que la banda está preparando el álbum, el cual cuenta con la participación de grandes músicos.
Recordemos que IL Volo debutó en el año 2011 con su disco homónimo, alcanzando importantes reconocimientos y certificaciones en Europa y logrando conquistar al público latino que sigue paso a paso cada movimiento de IL Divo.

‘Popera‘ trio Il Volo comes to El Paso

Coming back for their second North American tour, Italian Opera trio, Il Volo will stop at the Plaza Theatre on Sept. 25 for the first time, with an evening filled with classical music.

Il Volo, which translates to “The Flight,” is composed of three teenage tenors, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, all who competed individually in the second edition of Italian TV show, Ti lascio una canzone (“Leavin’ you a song”). The trio became a “popera” sensation after their performance of the Neapolitan classic, “O Sole Mio” (“My Sunshine”) in 2009.

According to Bryan Crowe, assistant general manager at the El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau, Il Volo became a huge hit in the United States.

“These three young folks have gained a lot of recognition, with special appearances in the finale of HBO comedy show, ‘Entourage, along with their national concert being aired live, from the Detroit Opera House, to PBS in March, 2012,” Crowe said.

Crowe said that not only will the concert be entertaining to a wide range of people, but it will also be very educative for younger crowds.

5 questions with Il Volo

Mix one part Jonas Brothers and one part Three Tenors and you get Il Volo, says singer Ignazio Boschetto, one-third of the Italian group. Go! spoke with him about the trio.

What was it like for you to come together through a TV talent show? I think it was a dream for us. I love to be with the guys because they're good guys. We're like three brothers. At the beginning of it I was in doubt. I didn't know what was going to happen. But we're like three brothers who share almost everything.

Describe Il Volo's music. It's not too much classical and not too much pop.

What makes the chemistry of the group work? Il Volo is in this business because we love it, not because of business or other things, not for money. We love singing. We love music and making music. The music makes us fly.

Did you ever imagine the talent show would lead to where you are now? I think everything has to start with a spark in a sense. The talent show was a big experience, and we really went up with that.

How do you feel about being called the Italian Jonas Brothers? I think we are different. They are differnet. The Jonas Brothers are three guys that do pop and rock. Il Volo is Il Volo, other kinds of music.

Il Divo vs. Il Volo: Breaking down the differences

In what must be the most coincidental booking of the year, male operatic pop groups Il Divo and Il Volo both take to the Peabody Opera House stage next week, with Il Volo on Tuesday and Il Divo on Wednesday.
The two groups are so alike on the surface that it's easy to confuse them. They share a musical genre, similar names, sweeping male harmonies and international flair. Both have performed on "American Idol" and have a connection to Barbra Streisand.
But there are distinct differences between the groups.
