3 Good Looking Young Italian Guys Show Off Their Amazing Voices

On Friday I was assigned to write a piece on the Il Volo concert happening at Radio City Music Hall that night. Initially dreading that I had to go home shave and put on a shirt that didn’t have a Death Metal font across the chest I agree and cleaned myself for their first New York appearance in 2 years.
Since your Pandora stations most likely wont pull up one of their songs on a Pop playlist I will Il Volos fame in a few sentences. Il Volo started as 3 teenage Opera singers who met on a Italian music competition show called “Ti Lascio Una Canzone” in 2009. After the competition the boys formed Il Volo and broke the hearts of Moms, Grandmas, Aunts and younger Sisters around the world. Their charming good looks, boyish cuteness and surprisingly good Opera voices gave them international success in a genre that is pretty much not existent in Pop Culture. So I went to the world famous Radio City Music Hall to experience Il Volo in concert. .

We found out about these guys when they covered One Direction, and have been fans ever since! Ch-ch-check out the medley of songs they performed for us, including a classic by Nat King Cole

Il Volo Radio City: a dream come true

"This is Radio City. I hope, we hope and everybody hope to go there, do a big concert for the American people". We all remember Ignazio showing their desire to perform there.
On September 27th, 2013, 3 years after the interview "A Day In The Life in NYC", Il Volo realized their dreams. Ilvolover, you just lived an historic day for Il Volo and this is just the beginning.
We're proud of them, there's nothing more to say about that wonderful day; "speechless".

Talented voices of Il Volo take Italian heartthrobs to new heights

They might be teenagers, but they sing the kinds of songs that bring moms and daughters to concerts together, and they do so well enough to capture the attention of Barbra Streisand, who invited the Italian trio to sing with her on her 2012 tour.
Il Volo, which appropriately means “the flight,” has skyrocketed to worldwide fame in three short years, and wraps up its first North American tour Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theatre.Tenors Ignazio Boschetto and Piero Barone and baritone Gianluca Ginoble have made quite a name and following for themselves with mature and glorious vocals that can handle an Italian aria as well as a U2 song. They reflect the song choices on their first two albums, the 2010 debut “Il Volo,” which went platinum, and the most recent “We Are Love,” around which this tour was based.Boschetto, 18, took a few minutes before the trio’s Atlanta concert to talk about the wild wave they’re riding, with a refreshingly gee-whiz reaction that makes you believe we won’t be reading any stories of them spitting off the hotel balcony on fans a la Bieber any time soon.“Sometimes I wake up in morning and have to hit my head on some wall, because I don’t believe,” says Boschetto. “For us, is a dream coming true. We have done so many things so far. I have to say thanks to our family and people believing in us, always supporting us.”

Il Volo at The Amway Arena-Orlando

All invited by the  Mayor to the City of Orlando Suite at the Amway Arena to the Il Volo show. The show was a mixture of popular Italian songs, Il Volo’s most recent hits and during the second part of the show, they performed, classical Italian, and American songs, the Mexican Hit Granada, hits from Placido Domingo, Luis Miguel, Frank Sinatra, and Barbra Streisand, . I can’t explain the effect it caused but the audience was so moved that little by little they were getting closer to the stage. At the end a standing ovation, they were called back to the stage and performed three more songs, bringing the audience to a climax. A show that is a must see by everyone that is a serious admirer of great music and great voices.  Many thanks to Director of Multicultural Events for the City of Orlando, Luiz Martinez-Alicea for organizing everything. How does it feel to visit Honduran land for the first time?
We are very excited to get to Honduras , we have many fans that our social networks have expressed their great anxiety that we are already there.

Il Volo, the language of love

Despite the success they have had with just two albums and toured Latin America , North America and Europe , Il Volo has his feet on the ground. He assures that him , Piero Barone and Gianluca Ginoble are simple, having fun together and have a solid friendship . On his opinion, the important thing is the selection of the songs, but also sing with emotion .

Il Volo's 4 Backstage Secrets

As the Italian-born operatic pop sensation Il Volo winds their way across the United States and onto the stage of Radio City Music Hall for their We Are Love Tour, I had the opportunity to closely observe and analyze the cross-generational appeal of this young trio. In a rare behind-the-scenes pre-concert interview in Pittsburgh for Parade.com, the three talented young stars, Piero Barone, 20, Ignazio Boschetto, 18, and Gianluca Ginoble, 18, opened up with me and 16-year-old high school newspaper entertainment editor Maura McNulty about life in and under the spotlight.
Within seconds, the charming trio had won the hearts and respect of this old-enough-to-be-their mom interviewer and her teen colleague. Conquering the mother-daughter age range of fans isn’t an easy feat, but Il Volo has surpassed that. From hyperventilating high school seniors and screaming senior citizens to starstruck preteens, the demographic profile of their fan base is one of the most comprehensive I have ever witnessed. Few artists, especially those under the age of 21, are able to fill enormous theaters with relatively equal numbers of Gen X, Gen Y, Baby Boomer, and Pre-Boomer fans. But Il Volo did it almost effortlessly.

Ignazio Boschetto speaks about the soaring success of Il Volo

When Italian trio Il Volo takes the stage, prepare to be swept away by the powerful passion only Italian opera can bring. Ignazio Boschetto, 18, Piero Barone, 20, and Gianluca Ginoble, 18, launched Il Volo in 2009. The group’s name, which means “the flight” has rocketed to global fame with their hit rendition of “O Sole Mio.”
In 2011, they appeared on HBO’s “Entourage” and the following year, performed with Barbra Streisand. Boschetto phoned us from Montreal Sept. 9 where Il Volo performed for 5,000 people the previous night. Currently touring in America promoting new albums We Are Love and Mas Que Amor, the vibrant young singer is definitely living la dolce vita these days.
“I think each moment of our career has been so special and important for us,” Boschetto said of his group's international superstardom. “For us, it’s a dream. Every single part of our day is like dreaming and we didn’t expect any of this. Being here after three years, everything has happened so fast. It’s really all a dream come true.”

Il Volo opera/pop trio comes to Westbury

"We don't sing just opera and we don't sing just pop," says Piero Barone of the Italian trio known as Il Volo, making its second concert appearance in two years at NYCB Theatre at Westbury Tuesday evening.
"We're a crossover between classical and contemporary," the 20-year-old tenor adds. As the only one of the three who's no longer a teenager -- tenor Ignazio Boschetto and baritone Gianluca Ginoble are both 19 -- Barone is the group's senior spokesman.
He speaks three languages -- Italian, English and Spanish -- but like the others, Barone also sings in a fourth language: German. Wagner, anyone?
"I'm the dramatic one," Barone says by phone from Chicago. "I can do opera. We sing with harmonies."
OPERA IDOL His greatest thrill so far is recording "Il Canto," with the legendary tenor Plácido Domingo. "I've been listening to him since I was 5 years old, and now he listens to us. Can you imagine? We decided together to dedicate the recording to Luciano Pavarotti because he's a countryman of ours," Barone said of the late tenor great. Domingo agreed to sing with Il Volo at the urging of a grandson.

Il Volo is way ahead of the learning curve

When Piero Barone, the youngest member of Il Volo, was born 20 years ago, Barbra Streisand already crossed the half-century mark.
But there was Barone, as well as Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, his Il Volo mates, sharing a stage with the icon when she returned to Brooklyn last autumn during a rare tour.
Il Volo impressed with their massive sets of pipes after they were introduced by Streisand.
“To perform with Barbra Streisand, particularly in her hometown of Brooklyn, was something we’ll never forget,” Barone says during a telephone interview from Vancouver. “Every night we were out with her, I had goose bumps.
“It was an extraordinary experience. What I learned from her was to keep it humble since she has accomplished more than anyone and she is so humble. We’ll be humble, too.”
Il Volo, which will perform Thursday at the Tower Theater, has plenty to be proud of, but the handsome, charismatic trio refrains from tooting its collective horn.
