Il Volo to perform with Barbara Streisand at Chicago's United Center

l Volo launched on the worldwide musical scene in 2009 while competing in the popular Italian talent show, "Ti Lascio Una Canzone".
The trio of operatic pop teenage tenors: Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble have since traveled the world performing in a number of venues. They are now on tour with Barbara Streisand and open for the musical legend Friday at the United Center.
Il Volo's second album "We Are Love" is scheduled to be released on November 19th. "We Are Love", recorded in Los Angeles and Rome, is co-produced by Grammy-winning producer Humberto Gatica and Tony Renis. Executive producers on the new album are Ron Fair and Michele Torpedine (Il Volo's manager) for the two duets. The new CD includes guest appearances by Placido Domingo and Eros Ramazzotti.

WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
WHERE: The Beacon Theater, 2124 Broadway at 74th Street, Manhattan;             800-653-8000       or ticketmaster.com.
HOW MUCH: $53.15 to $116.60.
FOR MORE INFORMATION: ilvolomusic.com.
Leave it to the Italians to do things a little classier.
Il Volo, a Roman boy band gaining popularity in the U.S., specializes in heart-melting classics like "O Sole Mio" ("My Sunshine") and "Smile," a Nat "King" Cole standard.
When the trio, composed of Piero Barone, 18, Ignazio Boschetto, 17, and Gianluca Ginoble, 17, sings, you're reminded of the lush, mature voices of Andrea Bocelli or Josh Groban. But their fresh-faced look is nothing short of the Italian Jonas Brothers.
Il Volo – which means "Flight" – is the epitome of cross-generational appeal: After appearances last year on "American Idol" and the series final of "Entourage," the trio will open eight shows for Barbra Streisand, including Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Oct. 11 and 13.

Italian trio Il Volo treats audience to heavenly performance

Italian singing group Il Volo lived up to its name Tuesday night at the National Arts Centre with a mesmerizing concert.
The trio — made up of youngsters Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto — took the near capacity crowd to dizzying heights with a well-balanced, technically superior and entertaining show. The group’s name Il Volo, Italian word meaning flight, is certainly apropos for these teenagers who have blended operatic-pop with a modern sensibility and come up with a repertoire that is winning fans over in droves.
The nearly two-hour show — with an intermission and encore — was a beauty in its simplicity, focusing very much on the heavenly voices of this talented trio. There was no flashy gimmicks, no big productions or overlong musical numbers, just some corny banter among them between songs and lots of good music.
But when you stripped away everything else, all that mattered were the voices. And what voices they have.
